For workshops | How to create and send designs

At RUGMATAG's custom rug workshop, you can create a rug with your own unique design .

However, tufting has limitations in the shapes, lines, and fineness that can be expressed , so not every design can be produced as is.

To ensure everything goes smoothly on the day, please prepare your design while checking the following points .

① About design submission

・Please send your design via LINE at least 7 days before the workshop.

・Our dedicated staff will check whether the design you send us can be made using tufting.

If any corrections are required, we will let you know here.

・Edit → Repeated resends until the design is ready for production

② Basic rules of lag

Rug size

Maximum 60cm x 60cm (or 50cm x 70cm )

The detail of the design

Designs that are too detailed become difficult

→ In some cases, we may ask you to simplify the shapes and lines.

Outline (outer shape)

·square

・Gentle curve

*Jagged or complex shapes are not allowed.

About Color

- Up to 6 colors can be used

・If you decide on a general color scheme in advance, things will go smoothly on the day.

Design Rules

・Please make sure to use an original design.

・Tracing characters, logos, or other people's work is not permitted.

* You can also customize the MIYOSHI RUG design to your preferred color (please contact us in advance if you wish to do so).

③ How to create a design

A: When drawing by hand

Draw the design on paper

- Take a photo from the front with your smartphone

・Just send it via LINE

Make sure to draw the lines thick and clearly (we recommend using a marker or thick pen).

B: When creating digitally

・Can be created using drawing apps or Illustrator

- Save in JPEG or PNG format ( * AI data not accepted )

・Please send it via LINE

④ Important points to note when creating a design (very important)

❶ Don't send photos as they are

→ You can't make a rug using a photo of the actual item.

→ Please make sure to select "Illustration"

❷ Draw clear lines

→ Thin lines do not show up well when transferred using a projector.

→ Make the border thick and dark!

❸ Avoid too many lines

→ You cannot create very thin lines or complex shapes.

→ A simple rug shape will look best

❹ Up to 6 colors

→ Think about the color scheme in advance so you won't have any trouble on the day.

Please keep the above in mind when creating your design.

・Send the completed design to your official LINE account

・If you get lost along the way, you can always ask for help via LINE ◎
