This time , we will introduce in detail how to choose the adhesive to use when finishing the back side and the preparations required before use. I hope this information will be helpful to those who have questions such as "How should I choose?" and "What should I prepare?"
Type of adhesive
Glue is needed to attach the base fabric, yarn, and lining.
We carry two types of rug adhesives, and we have summarized the characteristics of each. These two types of adhesives are actually used by professional rug companies.
・RADITEX (lining glue) *With anti-slip effect
This is a special adhesive for tufted rugs planned by Miyoshi Rugs Co., Ltd.
This is an adhesive developed specifically for tufted rugs, and is actually used in Miyoshi Rugs' products, making it a reliable adhesive.
By stirring and using it, you can get benefits such as 2 to 3 times the volume, reducing the amount used, improved spreadability and easier application, and improved anti-slip effect.
By using it together with the lining mesh sold on this site , a raw finish is possible and it has a non-slip effect.
Highly recommended for making rugs for flooring etc.
・Backing agent for tufting (rug adhesive) *With anti-mite effect
This adhesive is also a product actually used by rug companies.
Contains anti-mite ingredients to keep dust mites away. *Verification experiment completed
Rugs made with this adhesive can be safely used in environments with children and pets.
It is also recommended for long-term storage of tufted works or rugs for wall hanging.
It goes well with the mesh and backing cloths sold in our store.
*Although it has some anti-slip effect, it is not as strong as Miyoshi Rug's RADITEX.
preparation
When applying adhesive, work in a well-ventilated environment.
It is difficult to remove the adhesive if it gets on your clothes, so we recommend using clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, such as an apron.
When drying after applying, avoid direct sunlight while hanging it on the frame, and let it dry in a well-ventilated place. If you are working from home, we recommend a covered balcony or a well-ventilated garage. It will take 1-2 days to dry in the summer and 2-3 days in the winter, so it's a good idea to check in advance if you have a space to dry your clothes.

·mixer
Both of our adhesives are stirred before use.
We recommend using a hand mixer for the adhesive.
At our store, we use a tabletop mixer that can mix a large amount at one time.
If you are producing a large amount of rugs, we also recommend a tabletop mixer.
·Meter
A 60cm x 60cm rug uses about 400g to 500g. Prepare a measuring device according to the amount used.
・Hera
Prepare a plastic spatula to use when applying the product. It can be purchased at home centers, etc.
・Bowl or bucket
If you use it while stirring, the volume will expand 2 to 3 times, so make sure to prepare a large one with plenty of time.
