Ecoshell adhesive is a high-quality adhesive that is actually used in rug factories, specially customized by RUGMATAG for home tufting. It is easy to use right out of the box and is made from unique, environmentally friendly materials.

How to use

Mesh finish

1. Place the mesh
   
   
   Place the mesh flat on the back of the work. It will be easier to work with if you prepare a mesh that is slightly larger than the work.

2. Shake vigorously with the lid closed

   Make sure the contents are uniform

3. Applying adhesive
   
   
   Apply adhesive dots on the mesh
   
   
   Use a spatula to spread the mixture from the center outwards in a radial pattern until it adheres evenly.
   
   
4. Allow to dry thoroughly
   
   
   Let it air dry on a flat surface for approximately 24 hours.
   Drying in a low humidity environment is effective.

For backing cloth

1. Applying adhesive
   • Apply adhesive evenly to the rug's mounting surface
2. Attach the backing cloth
   • Cover with backing cloth before the adhesive dries.
   • Pull the cloth tightly to avoid wrinkles, and apply it firmly until the adhesive slightly oozes out.
3. Allow to dry thoroughly
   • Let it air dry on a flat surface for approximately 24 hours

The amount of glue required varies depending on the size of the project. Please refer to the information below and prepare an appropriate amount.

Storage and usage precautions

Storage method

• Store in a dark place at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C.
• Keep out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets
• After use, close the lid tightly and store in an airtight container.
• Do not transfer the product to another container; store it in the original container.

Precautions when using

• Be sure to shake before use. If stored for a long time, the ingredients will separate. Using the product while it is still separated will reduce its effectiveness and result in uneven application and a poor finish on the rug.

• Work in a well-ventilated environment

• Apply and dry away from pets and small children

• If it gets on your skin, wash it off with soap and water
• If it gets into your eyes, rinse immediately with water and consult a doctor if necessary
• In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur. If you experience any abnormalities, discontinue use.

Precautions after finishing

• The finished rug can be washed by hand (do not machine wash).
• When drying, we recommend spreading it out on a flat surface and drying it in the shade.

Disposal method

• Wipe off any adhesive on the spatula or other surface you have used with a cloth and dispose of it as regular household waste.
• Please dispose of any containers with remaining adhesive in accordance with the instructions of your local government.
• Caution: Never flush down the sink or toilet. It is insoluble in water and can clog drains.

How environmentally friendly is EcoShell adhesive?

Can I wash my artwork after gluing?

Yes, you can hand wash your artwork after 24 hours of gluing. However, we recommend that you do not use a washing machine and instead gently hand wash your artwork. After washing, lay it flat and let it air dry.

How long can the adhesive be stored after opening?

If stored unopened in an appropriate environment (a dark room at a temperature between 5°C and 35°C), the product can be used for 6 months from the date of manufacture. After opening, we recommend storing the product in a tightly sealed container without transferring the contents.

Is there an optimal environment for using adhesives?

The application process itself can be done in a variety of environments, but a low humidity environment is best when it dries. We recommend that you always ventilate the area when working, and work in an area away from pets and small children. Also, please be careful not to let pets or small children touch the product while it is drying after application.

Is this adhesive safe? Are there any special precautions I should take?
