This is a backing cloth specifically for tufting rugs, used to finish the back side of the rug.
◎Recommended points
- It covers the back side, hiding the hammered surface for a beautiful finish.
- The adhesive is applied, the backing cloth is attached, and then the cloth is dried, so drying and attachment can be done at the same time, making the process more efficient.
- By using it in combination with the backing tape (sold separately), it will become more durable and have a more complete appearance.
■How to use
① Apply adhesive to the back of the rug after it has been sewn. ② Cover it with a backing cloth cut to a size larger than the piece, and adhere it firmly to prevent wrinkles. ③ Leave it to dry for at least 24 hours (time may vary depending on temperature and ventilation).
④Cut it out about 2cm larger than your design, fold the excess inward, and secure it in place with a glue gun or glue.
⑤ Apply backing tape ( sold separately ) to the folded surface using a glue gun or adhesive.
Material: 20 % cotton/80% polyester
■ Estimated creation time when used with a frame size of about 90 x 90 cm (cut at 1 x 1 m)
1m x 1m: 1 sheet
1m x 2m: 2 sheets
2m x 2m : 4 sheets
