Home Tufting Master Course

A two-day course where you can learn the basic steps required for home tufting

This course is for those who want to start tufting on their own, or for those who are currently tufting but want to refresh their knowledge of the basics.

The maximum capacity is two people per session.
Depending on the reservation situation, the event may be held with only one person.

Day 1

①Tufting Lectures

[Learn about rug materials and equipment]

・DIY frame structure

・Difference between yarn for handicrafts and yarn for rugs

-Difference between acrylic yarn and wool yarn

-About the two types of tufting cloths we sell

・About the AK series tufting gun

(AK-1, AK-2, AK-DUO)

・Basic gun maintenance methods

・About rug adhesives/backings

② Upholstery

Learn how to upholster fabric correctly

③Design production and projector transfer

・Design production procedure

・Precautions and tips for projector transfer

④Practice tufting with a tufting gun

・Practice hitting with AK-1

Practice drawing lines and learn how the finish differs depending on how tight the stitches are

⑤Production

Day 2

11:00〜15:00

①Finishing the lining

・How to finish the surface using a trimmer guide

-How to finish the edges with handheld clippers and points to note

③Carving

・Basic carving with clippers

④How to care for your rug

How to care for and wash the rugs you make

■ Production rug

Choose from two designs prepared by our store in your favorite color

- Gradient 5-strand acrylic yarn for rugs (3 colors)

Size: 35cm semicircle

・Carved lettering using two strands of wool yarn for rugs (one letter or one number)

Size: 25 x 25 cm square

After the experience, you can purchase the equipment and materials necessary for home tufting at the shop on the 4th floor. We can provide support and advice that only a tufting specialist like RUGMATAG can provide.

You can enter the store 10 minutes before. Please come 5 minutes before. The work will end as soon as it is completed.

*We recommend wearing a mask on the second day.
