[Let's make something with tufting! #7] Cat scratching cover
Hello! I'm Chris, the manager of RUGMATAG, a tufting specialty store in Osaka.
"Let's make it with tufting!"
"Tufting isn't just for rugs." This is a series that introduces tufting ideas that have expanded from this discovery.
The appeal of tufting is that, depending on your ideas, you can easily create everything from interior decor items to practical items.
This time, based on the items that were actually made, we will introduce in detail the yarn and tools used, the size, and key points for making them.
I hope this will give you some ideas when you're wondering, "What should I make next?"
If you think this is cute, please try making it using the reference below!

When you're wondering, "What should I make next?", try this recipe.
Try transforming everyday items into something a little more special.

This time, I tried making a cat scratching cover using tufting .
This removable cover is perfect for those who find the commercially available ones a bit boring.
The yarn used is "Wool Yarn Seasonal Pick Up Color"

Choose from 10 carefully selected colors based on the theme of each season.
This time we used P42 / DT-150 / N45 .
It has a refreshing tone that blends in well with early summer interiors.
▶︎ Check out the season's pick-up colors here
There are two design patterns!
① Simple two-tone

The combination of white and green creates an ice cream-like design .
② Create a three-dimensional effect with carving
A space-age design is created by varying the pile length on a single color base of N45 .
I drew the lines with a 10mm gun, filled in the inside with a 16mm gun, and then carved it to create a three-dimensional finish!
Because it's your favorite, we want you to be able to use it for a long time.

Velcro fasteners are attached to the back of the piece and the nail file itself, making it removable.
The design allows you to reuse your favorite covers!

My cat loves wool yarn, so he loved this piece and kept rubbing against it...so cute.

The appeal of tufting is the freedom to create
"It would be convenient if I had something like this" "It would be cute if I had all these colors" Even small ideas like these can be turned into reality with tufting.
As you choose the color, choose the texture, and get to work , you'll surely end up with your own personal favorite.
RUGMATAG will continue to introduce fun and easy tufting ideas and crafting tips on our blog.
