Hello. We are Tufting studio & shop RUGMATAG, which operates a tufting workshop and a specialty store for equipment and materials in Morinomiya, Osaka .
This time I wrote an article about things to be careful of after applying adhesive. I hope this article will be of help to those who have questions such as, ``I have leftover glue after stirring, is it okay to put it back?'' or ``Can I just wash the bowl that I put the glue in?''
If there is leftover glue after stirring
Have you ever had leftover adhesive after gluing the lining?
At our store, if we have leftover glue that has already been stirred, we put the leftover glue into an empty bottle, stir it again within a few days, and use it again. If you leave the stirred adhesive for too long, it may change color (yellowing, etc.) and reduce the effectiveness of the adhesive (anti-slip effect, anti-mite effect, etc.), so be sure to use it as soon as possible.
If you put something that has been stirred back into a container containing unstirred adhesive, it may deteriorate, so be sure to separate the containers for stirred and unstirred adhesive.
How to clean up after applying adhesive
If you rinse the container with adhesive still on it, it may cause the water supply to become clogged.
At our store, we use paper towels and scraps of tufting cloth leftover from production to wipe off as much glue as possible before washing.
After washing, make sure to clean the drain as well.
Even a small amount of adhesive can cause water pipes to become clogged, so be careful when cleaning up.
